As Vistara and Air India join wings, we look forward to flying you to a sky full of possibilities that allows you to explore the world. While the two airlines come together, there may be some aspects of your journey that may change.
If you have an existing booking with Vistara for travel on or before 11-November-2024, your flight will continue to be operated by Vistara and there is no impact or change in your booking.
Starting 03-September-2024, customers will progressively not be able to make bookings for travel after 11-November-2024 i.e. 12-November-2024 onwards on Vistara. For travel after 11-November-2024, you can book via the Air India website www.airindia.com or through the Air India mobile app.
If you have an existing booking with Vistara but your journey is after 11-November-2024 i.e. 12-November-2024 onwards, your flight will be operated by Air India, subject to regulatory approvals.

Booking
Q. Can I continue using the Vistara website or mobile app for booking?
If you wish to make a booking for travel until 11-November-2024, you can continue to do so through the Vistara website or mobile app. For travel 12-November-2024 onwards, you can book through the Air India website on www.airindia.com or download the Air India mobile app. For Award Flights, Complimentary Voucher Tickets, Upgrade Awards, and Cash+ Points bookings, please refer to the Club Vistara FAQs.
Q. I have my flight booked on Vistara. Will my e-ticket still be valid?
If your travel is until 11-November-2024, your PNR number and e-ticket would remain the same and you can modify it through the Vistara website or mobile app if you wish to. However, if you are travelling 12-November-2024 onwards, your flight will be operated by Air India, subject to regulatory approvals. You will receive an Air India ticket with a new E-ticket Number, however, the PNR will remain the same as before. On the day of your journey, you can proceed to the Air India counter at the airport with the new Air India ticket for your journey.
Q. Will I be able to book flights to any destination on Vistara?
Yes, you can fly to any Vistara destination on Vistara until 11-November-2024.
Q. If my travel is 12-November-2024 onwards, will my booking done on Vistara be visible on the Air India website and app after the merger?
Yes, you will be able to view and manage your booking using your Last Name and PNR on the Air India website www.airindia.com and mobile app (for travel 12-November-2024 onwards).
Q. I have booked via a Travel Agent. How do I access my booking to make changes?
For bookings made through a Travel Agent, please contact the travel agent directly for any changes/modifications required.
Web check-in
Q. I booked on Vistara and wish to web check-in. How do I do that?
For travel until 11-November-2024, you can do the same through the Vistara website or mobile app. For travel 12-November-2024 onwards, your flight will be operated by Air India, subject to regulatory approvals. You can web check-in via the Air India website on www.airindia.com or through the Air India mobile app using the same PNR and Last Name. On the day of your journey, you can proceed to the Air India counter at the airport with the new Air India ticket for your journey.
Q. Will I be able to use DigiYatra for my bookings?
Yes, you can continue using DigiYatra regardless of whether your flight is being operated by Vistara or Air India.
Baggage
Q. Will the baggage allowance applicable on Vistara change if my flight is now being operated by Air India?
If your flight is now being operated by Air India (for travel 12-November-2024 onwards, subject to regulatory approvals), the baggage allowed would remain the same as the one applicable when booking on Vistara.
For example: If the baggage allowed was 15kg when you booked on Vistara, it will remain the same even if your flight is now being operated by Air India.
Q. I need to buy excess baggage. Where do I purchase it from?
For travel until 11-November-2024, you can purchase excess baggage through the Manage My Booking section on the Vistara website or mobile app. For travel 12-November-2024 onwards, you can purchase excess baggage by visiting Air India website www.airindia.com or by calling the Call Centre on +91 9289228888 .
Q. I had purchased excess baggage while booking on Vistara. Will the purchased excess baggage be valid when flying Air India?
The excess baggage bought while booking on Vistara will be transferred to the new Air India flight (for travel 12-November-2024 onwards, subject to regulatory approvals). For any assistance, you can contact the Vistara Call Centre on +91 9289228888.
Flight Status
Q. How can I check my upcoming flight status?
For travel until 11-November-2024, you can do so via the Vistara website or mobile app. For travel 12-November-2024 onwards, you can check using the same PNR and Last Name on the Air India website www.airindia.com or through the Air India mobile app.
Q. Will my flight status be affected because of the merger?
The flight timings should remain the same, however, if there are any changes, you will be informed by the Customer Service Team and via e-mail and SMS. You can also check the flight status from the Vistara or the Air India website depending on the operating airline.
Rescheduling and Cancellation
Q. I had booked on Vistara but wish to reschedule/cancel now. How can I do that?
You can call the Vistara Call Centre on +91 9289228888 to reschedule or cancel. The charges for rescheduling and cancellations will be as per the operating airline.
Q. What will be the no-show charges if I miss my flight?
If your flight is being operated by Vistara (for travel until 11-November-2024), the Vistara no-show charges will be applicable. If your flight is being operated by Air India (for travel 12-November-2024 onwards, subject to regulatory approvals), Air India no-show charges will be applicable.
Seat Selection
Q. I had selected my preferred free seat while booking on Vistara. Will my seat selection remain valid? Can I modify the same?
Yes, the seat selection will remain valid if you have selected your seat on Vistara but are now flying Air India (for travel 12-November-2024 onwards, subject to regulatory approvals). If you wish to make changes to this selection, please contact the Vistara Call Centre on +91 9289228888.
Q. I had selected my preferred paid seat while booking on Vistara. Will my seat selection remain valid when flying on Air India? Can I modify the same?
The paid seat selected bought while booking on Vistara will convert into a complimentary seat if your flight is now being operated by Air India (for travel 12-November-2024 onwards, subject to regulatory approvals). The refund for the seat purchased will be processed by Vistara. For any assistance, you can contact the Vistara Call Centre on +91 9289228888.
Q. I did not select a seat. How do I select a seat (free/paid) now?
For travel until 11-November-2024, you can select your seat through the Manage My Booking section on the Vistara website or mobile app. For travel 12-November-2024 onwards, you can select your seat through the Air India website or call us on +91 9289228888.
Q. I was downgraded to Economy Class cabin after receiving the new Air India ticket. What should I do now?
If your travel is post 11-November-2024 and your cabin class has been downgraded due to aircraft change or any other reason, please submit a request for downgrade compensation once all parts of your journey are completed. You can submit the same through Air India website https://www.airindia.com/in/en/contact-us/customer-support-portal.html
Meal Selection
Q. I had selected my preferred meal while booking on Vistara. Will my meal selection remain valid? Can I modify the same?
The meal selected when booking on Vistara will remain valid even if you are flying with Air India (for travel 12-November-2024 onwards, subject to regulatory approvals), except for any Special Meal Requests mentioned.
Q. I did not select a meal during booking stage or through the Manage My Booking section, how do I select the meal now?
For travel until 11-November-2024, you can select your meal through the Manage My Booking section on the Vistara website or mobile app. For travel 12-November-2024 onwards, you can select your meal via the Air India website www.airindia.com.
Lounge Services
Q. I had purchased lounge access while booking on Vistara. Will my access be valid when flying Air India?
The lounge access purchased while booking on Vistara will not be valid if your flight is now being operated by Air India (for travel 12-November-2024 onwards, subject to regulatory approvals). The refund for the purchased lounge access will be processed by Vistara. For any assistance, you can contact the Vistara Call Centre on +91 9289228888.
Q. How do I book lounge access if I have booked my ticket on Vistara?
For travel until 11-November-2024, you can purchase lounge access through the Manage My Booking section on the Vistara website or mobile app.
Spilt PNR
Q. I had booked a flight on Vistara for multiple passengers on one PNR and now wish to split this PNR into different journeys. How do I do that?
You can split the PNR into different journeys by contacting the Vistara Call Centre on +91 9289228888.
Extra Ancillary Services
Q. I made a booking on Vistara and wish to purchase additional ancillary services or upgrade my flight. How and where will I be able to do that?
If you had booked on Vistara but your flight is now being operated by Air India (for travel 12-November-2024 onwards, subject to regulatory approvals), you can purchase additional services or upgrade by contacting the Call Centre on +91 116 932 9333.
Q. I had purchased Vistara Priority Services/Vistara Meet & Assist Services/Vistara Gate To Gate Services, while booking on Vistara. Will these remain valid when flying Air India?
The services purchased while booking on Vistara will not be valid if your flight is now being operated by Air India (for travel 12-November-2024 onwards, subject to regulatory approvals). Travel Insurance
Q. I had purchased Travel Insurance while booking on Vistara. Will this remain valid when flying Air India?
Yes, it will be valid if you are flying with Air India as well.
Others
Q. I have a Vistara Purple Ticket Gift Card. Where and how can I use that?
You can redeem the Vistara Purple Ticket Gift Card on the Vistara website until 11-November-2024 to book flights on Vistara. Effective 12- November-2024 the Gift Cards can be used for booking Air India flight on the Air India website.
Q. I am a Platinum/Gold/Silver member of the Flying Returns programme. Can I avail tier benefits when flying with Vistara on a codeshare flight?
Yes, as a Flying Returns member, you can enjoy airport benefits like priority check-in, priority boarding, priority baggage handling, lounge access, and excess baggage allowance by showing your digital Flying Returns membership card at the Vistara check-in counter. These benefits are available to Platinum, Gold, and Silver Tier Flying Returns members, subject to airport discretion.
Q. I placed a request for Wheelchair Assistance through Vistara. Will I have to place the request again if I am now flying Air India?
Wheelchair requests made on Vistara will remain valid and will be duly transferred if you are now flying Air India (for travel 12-November-2024 onwards, subject to regulatory approvals). In case you need any further assistance, please contact the Call Centre on +91 9289228888.
Q. For special services, will the documents required by Vistara be accepted at Air India?
If your booking has been transferred to Air India, please adhere to the operating airline’s documents and requirements before your travel. Visit Air India website www.airindia.com for more information.
Q. Once Vistara merges with Air India, can I still expect Vistara experience in the upcoming Air India flights such as the inflight product & cabin service?
The Vistara experience will continue with the same aircraft, product and service, including menu, cutlery etc. and be serviced by the same crew. The flights operated on Vistara aircrafts will have a special four-digit Air India code beginning with the digit “2” (for example, UK977 becomes AI2977; UK25 becomes AI2025), helping customers identify them while booking. However, the booking, ticketing, check-in etc. will be through Air India as the legal entities and Air Operator Certificates merge into one, effective 12 November 2024.
Q. I have a codeshare/interline ticket issued by Vistara’s codeshare/interline partner. What happens to my booking?
For travel beyond 11-November-2024, your booking would be moved to an Air India operated flight for the part of the journey which was to be operated by Vistara. However, it would have to be confirmed and reissued by the booking agent or the Partner Airline that has issued the original ticket. Please reach out to your booking agent issuing airline in advance to receive the revised e-ticket.
Q. I have a codeshare/interline ticket issued by Vistara. What happens to my booking?
For travel beyond 11-November-2024, your booking would be moved to an Air India operated flight for the part of the journey which was to be operated by Vistara. There would be no impact on the other parts of your journey. You will receive communication once your flights are moved and receive a revised e-ticket issued by Air India. In case of any assistance needed with the booking, queries or to request the revised e-ticket again, please contact the Call Centre on +91 9289228888.
Q. I flew on Vistara and wish to download the Travel Certificate now. Would that be available on Vistara or Air India?
You can request for the Travel Certificate from the Vistara website till 11-November-2024. 12-November-2024 onwards, you can request for the travel certificate through the Help page on the Air India website www.airindia.com.
Q. Will the same corporate deals/benefits at Vistara be available in Air India?
For existing bookings which are getting migrated to Air India, Vistara benefits and fare rules will apply. For new bookings made with Air India for travel post 11-November-2024 Air India’s corporate deals and benefits will be applicable.
